Our digital publicity campaign hit stratospheric heights as we secured top-tier media placements via extensive talent interviews, video features, major asset launches, digital media line press at the Royal Premiere and more.
Highlights include the Official Trailer launch which resulted in coverage on 125+ different outlets and a video feature on IGN’s YouTube channel - currently on 7.2m views.
We created audience and platform specific strategies to target the younger audience, especially on TikTok, being reactive and relevant.
Throughout the campaign period we tracked conversation and topical moments to amplify discoverability and views. Part of this was dialling into trends like TellerTok and putting a TGM spin on topical moments of the summer like Love Island and the heatwave.
From ideation, creation and community management, we were able to own the process end-to-end. This strategy paid off with over 70k audience growth and several organic TikToks with six figure views.
The film opened to £15.9m in the UK - the biggest launch of Tom Cruise’s career in the territory. At the time of writing, Top Gun: Maverick is in the top 10 highest grossing films of all time in the UK.
