Endless summer, childhood adventures — it’s been a joy to work with Disney Pixar on their latest film Luca, a beautiful fish-out-of-water story, full of charm, character and imagination.

The brief

Create a suite of social assets that weave in the Summer, adventure and underdog themes within the film. Highlight the underwater world and the juxtaposition against the main setting of the story in Portorosso.

What We Did

We brought fans closer to this amazing world with Interactive social posts, Comedy spots, Quote cards, Review videos, Awareness Day creative, Activity sheets and much more.

We helped produce a Summer Friendship series where selected influencers from around the world describe their childhood friendships and have a precious photo recreated by a Pixar artist in the style of Luca.

Our interactive Instagram filter encouraged fans to dive deep together, where they would transform into adorable sea creatures and discover the exciting world under the surface.

Results

The collection of social assets created by Substance were used by 16 markets globally and featured on 42 different Disney accounts.

During the main release period, the assets amassed 1.7million engagements.
