Wicked Christmas Tree at St Pancras International
An absolutely magical and thrillifying activation from our Events team. We were honoured to partner with Universal Pictures to project manage this year's spectacular St Pancras International Christmas tree, celebrating the theatrical release of Wicked.
Working alongside the fantastic teams at HS1, Plunge Creations and MXW Studios, Substance Global managed the installation of the beautifully intricate 11 metre tree, which was meticulously hand-painted and took 20 expert crafts people over 4000 hours to make. Featuring immersive booths, seating areas, photo opps and a stunning to-scale replica of the land of Oz hidden within, the spectacular tree garnered impressive media coverage and social buzz.
Activations to accompany the launch included a string quartet, a pianist playing on Wicked Wednesdays, an official photo moment for visitors and a free Christmas ornament giveaway. The wonderful wizard himself, Jeff Goldblum, even came along to play a few pieces on the piano!
